American Idol 10: Scotty Won!

I admit! I haven't watched American Idol since Casey Abrams got eliminated. But, I still kept reading blogs and news about it. When the Top 3 was presented, my emotions shifted from rooting for Scotty to Hailey. Then, when the Top 2 was announced, my immediate reaction was Lauren was going to win.

I don't know why my Scotty addiction stopped. Maybe because I got bored already of watching him already? I. DON'T. KNOW. REALLY.

I haven't watched the finals yet but I will sure do later! I'm excited to see Lady Gaga perform and Beyonce. Oh well, going back to Scotty.

Now that I knew ahead of time that Scotty won, everything is sinking in and I am really having a hard time figuring out whether he will succeed as a recording artist or not. I know that Country is a big thing in the States and I really hope that Scotty will be know all over. He deserves it! He worked hard to win and he did!

Congratulations to dear Scotty!

American Idol 10: Top 9 Performances

Are you shitting me?!?! This episode is my favorite episode so far among all the other episodes of AI10. I mean all of the contestants performed very well and I really, really enjoyed watching this episode. The Top 9 contestants really rocked everyone watching!

I so love this episode. I wanted to add everyone's performance here in my blog. But I am just posting here the one's that I liked the most. Thanks to http://www.youtube.com/user/LoverAmericanIdol for all the videos.

So, I'm starting off with Haley Reinhart singing "Piece of My Heart"

Surprisingly, I loved Haley's performance. She's improving and I think she will be staying a little longer in this game. I couldn't believe I'm writing this down about her. I hated her before but she really sang this song beautifully. And I really loved the song she sang.

Next, is Paul Mcdonald. I love his voice. I love his moves. I love everything about Paul!

He really rocked his performance and I really think that the audience and the judges loved his performance as well. I love Paul ever since and I really hope that he continues on with Idol.

Then came Scotty McCreery. I love him! I adore him!

Scotty never ceases to amaze me. He really is an adorable guy. I don't know why but every time I watch Scotty, I always have a smile on my face. He is so cute! And he really sings well. This performance made everyone aware that he can sing not only Country songs but other genres as well.

Next in line is Casey Abrams. He really have a unique way of singing. If Casey was one of my classmates in  college, I will see him as a weird person. A weird but cool person that I will talk to. He really deserves to be saved. I loved the song and I loved his bass!

Oh and how can I forget Jacob. I got the feeling that he will be going home tomorrow but I want to post his video because his performance really made me laugh. I like his "thrust" moves!

American Idol 10: From 11 to 9

I know I haven't posted any updates about AI10 recently. I've been busy uploading and sharing my food discoveries and my recipes that I totally forgot about AI10.

OK so Elton John theme went by. Just like the other blogs that I read, the performers were great. It was as if the only nudge they needed was the early use of the Judges Save. As i watched all the performers, I felt that the competition was really starting.

The results were predictable. Among the top 11 contestants, Thia and Naima were the ones who I really believed were coming home. Both of them were mediocre. Better luck next time girls! But you were great and you were part of one of the coolest American Idol season that I watched.

So from11, they are now 9.

I read in some other blogs that the theme for the coming week will be "Rock n' Roll". Of course, James Durbin is expected to give it all out this time. this is his theme so he better give a "bombastic" performance. If he plays it safe, Jacob might be the one who will leave for this theme.

Can't wait for the coming episode! I hope they will give us a great show!

American Idol 10: The Top 12 Performance Review and Results

OK, I didn't even have the power to finish the episode of American Idol last night. Everything was just too boring for me. I hated half of the contestants' performance. I even hated Paul's song choice. I really wish that he sings the songs that are suitable to his voice and songs that are generally known by everyone and not only by him. If he doesn't step up a notch, he will be in trouble of going home soon.

I was just happy that 2 of song that I chose for the contestants came up, Naima's "What's Love Got to Do" which turned out to be an average performance and forgettable and James' "I'll Be There for You" which I think was just an OK performance.

What else can I say? Top 12 performances should be good already! How come the contestants are still average? They should be performing for their lives and they should be stepping up every week. Shesh!

Performances that I liked include: Pia, Stefano, Scott and James. I was kinda happy that Karen got eliminated because I don't like ever since from the start. Karen, we know you are Latina but please stop rubbing it in our faces.

I really hope that next week, their performances will be greater that this week. I'm starting to feel bored about watching it already.

30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 3

Day 3 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show

I've always been very vocal with my love to this show. Modern Family is the only show that I can remember that made me laugh so hard.

Some might not agree, some may agree but who freakin' cares! I love this show!

American Idol 10: The Top 13

At last, the Top 13 has been named. Who will win the coveted title? Who will reign supreme among all the hundreds of hopefuls? Who will be the next American Idol?

(Enter American Idol Theme Music)

I was kinda jealous of Ryan Seacrest because he always get to say the dramatic tag lines of American Idol.well, he deserves it. I cannot imagine any other person being the emcee of AI, so good job!

Anyway, I was late in posting this blog because I was so engrossed in the sharing my recipes online. but anywhere, here it is.

The Top 13 was already named. At least the people that I like are there. So, I will still have reason to watch the coming shows.

My Loves
I love it that Scott was still in and really believe that I have a crush on him. I also love that Naima was given another chance. I like her story and I can see her passion in singing. Paul was also chosen and I always knew it. I won;t be surprised if that guy will go all the way the contest.

My Hates
I really hate it when I learned that Ashton was the chosen instead of the skinny guy from New York. I hate her diva attitude and I hate her face. And what's up with that Latina girl? I really didn't like her performance and I hated the song. And James is starting to annoy me. I'm starting to feel that he is over acting. Keep it cool man!

Disclaimer: The comments above are just my opinions OK!

I can't wait for the next performance of the contestants tomorrow night. I hope that everyone will shine and I hope they will give a good show.

American Idol 10: The Girls Who I Liked

Well, even if I was so sleepy already, I still wanted to watch the Top 12 Girls perform and do their thing in Idol. So, wrapped in my fluffy blanket, I watched on as the girls strut themselves and perform.

Disclaimer: This blog was written way different from the American Idol 10: The Boys who I Liked because I am not familiar with majority of the songs sang by the girls.

The girls performance started of with an average performance of the Only Girl in the World. If you ask me, that performance was so tiring! I can feel the contestant really grasping for air just to follow the song. Well, anyway, I first started to feel the competition when Naima Adedapo performed. I love her voice! And I love her moves! She knows how to lure people on with her performance. I also like her fashion! I really hope she makes it through.

Next performance that liked was Thia Megia's rendition of the song On My Own. The acapella  intro was great and it added to the mood and style of her performance. I loved her outfit! Her piece was nice but not amazing. I feel that she is playing safe on her song choices. If she gets through, she should show a wilder and lighter side of herself to everyone.

the rest of the girl's performances just passed by. I forgot most of them already which was bad because I really thought that the girls will rule this season's Idol.

well, good thing Pia Toscano came in and brought everything to the next level. Her performance was inspiring. i can feel her emotions and she brought it in! The standing "O" was well deserved and I really feel that we will see more of Pia in the coming episodes.

That's it! I kinda know who the Top 13 contestants already because I saw spoilers of the show but I will blog about it when I watch the elimination episode tonight.

American Idol 10: The Boys Who I Liked

Finally, it's American Idol time!

I am so excited already. I can't wait to see the Top 24 perform. I have some of my favorites already but I want to start with a new slate in picking my favorite.

AI10 started with a blast. The stage looked awesome the judges looked great and everyone was excited for the show to start.

I was initially planning on blogging about each performer but it was just to tedious for me. So, I will just share the performances that I liked.

Here it goes...

Clint Jun Gamboa - Superstition
It was a happy performance. The lights complimented the song and Jun was able to bring it on. His performance was really a good start.Towards the end, I felt he was over reacting already with all the shouting and all the movement. But still, I liked his performance.

Paul McDonald - Maggie May
I was not sure what Paul's name was at first. All I could remember was his very unique voice. During his performance, i was just staring at him and looking at him and his style of clothing and I suddenly said, "I like him!". I love his performance. I love his dance moves and I love his tight and fit attire. It looked very good on him. I was already imaging Doms with that same style of outfit in my cousins wedding in November. -> SEGWAY!

James Durbin - You got Another Thing Comin'
James Durbin was super! His energy was way over the top. Everybody can feel him and the judges definitely liked him.I can feel him being part of the Top 12 contestants of AI 10 and he will definitely go a long way.

Jacob Lusk - A House is Not a Home
What more can I say? This guy is a performer. He sings very well and he shows his emotion through singing. I just don't feel his "dance of joy" but he really deserves to be part of idol.Talented people like that should be seen all over the world.

Scott McCreery - Letters From Home
Ok, Scott for me is so ADORABLE.He sings country music so well it seems he has been singing since birth. What I like about him is the way he projects himself in television. He knows how to act cute and he is cute and the people around him believes he is cute!

All in all, the boys performed OK. I hated the other performers specially that Jordan Dorsey dude! He kept on saying "that's not me that's not me". What's up with that? Why did you choose that song in the first place?!?!

Towards the end of the episode. I felt that the judges didn't really give out appropriate criticisms to the boys. They should have just added "more" to what they have to say. Their comments were not that helpful if you ask me.

So, it's the girls turn now! I'm they will be better.

83rd Oscar Awards Red Carpet Best Dressed (For Me)

I've been raving about the Oscar's since last week. I know I promised to watch all the Best Picture nominees but as always, I didn't have the time to do it.

I'm also kinda sad since I cannot access any streaming site here in my office so I just rely on people's tweets (with envy) about what's happening in the awards night. I've been waiting like FOREVER for sites with red carpet pictures but nothing loads so far! Seems people kept on accessing all the celebrity sites just to get a look on how the actors/actresses are dressed. Or maybe, the sites keep on updating the photos that's why it so long to load.

I just read that The Social Network won Best Film Editing and Inception won Best Visual Effects. Shucks! I want to watch the Oscar's now!

I'm loving the following gowns already! Pictures taken from TMZ.com Of course, these are what I think are the best dressed because I love their gown style. I already saw 2 gowns that I hated and I will blog about later.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Mandy Moore
Sandra Bullock

Mila Kunis
I love Mila Kunis' gown! It reminded me of my wedding. When I was so busy searching for the right neckline. If I saw this, I'd probably use this design.

And for the best dressed to me... Drum roll please!

Scarlet Johansen
I love the lace style! I love the cut! I love everything about it! It really looks good on her. Until my next blog about the Oscar's!

Reasons Why I'm Loving AI10

I've been very vocal about me loving the latest season of American Idol. I never thought that I'll be writing a blog about. Well, ever since Idol started, I loved watching the episodes already. But, I don't like the audition parts. So, I always wait for the time when the Top 24 contestants has been announced and that's the time that I will start watching it.

Anyway, in the past years, I've been "lazy" in watching Idol episodes. I don't know why but maybe because I was so tired of listening to the judges' unreasonable comments. There was even a time that I was tired of looking at them! It was really a good move for the creators of Idol to change the judges.

I was at first reluctant when I found out that Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez will join Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest in this season of Idol. My first reaction was, "Jennifer Lopez? She will just whine and be too gentle on the contestants." While for Steven Tyler I just said, "F*ck! Who *bleep* thought of getting  that *bleep* kind *bleep* *bleep* of a person?". But all of those initial reaction swished out of the window when I first watched an episode of Idol 10 .

The 3 judges' aura in the television was amazing! They click together. JLo's comments were not that sweet but very objective. A lot of contestants love her and they were starstruck when they see her. Steven Tyler's reaction when a contestant was out of tune in singing has always been hilarious! He's like, what?!? (with eye brows raised to the roof!). His comments were straight to the point and he knows what he is saying. Randy on the other hand, was still kinda stuck by how the past judges does their criticisms. He was like "Listen, dawg it's not for you..." This annoys me. Why not just tell the contestant the parts that he/she needs to improve on? Anyway, good thing I don't pay too much attention to him. I particularly liked the part when the judges met Cris Medina's wife in a wheel chair. Steven was like "You know why your husband sings well, because he sings it for you". I was teary eyed when I watched this.

Ryan has always and will always be the life of the party. I never realized that he can be as kind-hearted and sweet person. His interaction with the contestants and their family was just too natural. It really shows that he likes working with people.

Honestly, the past judges (Simon, Paula and Randy) just clicked to me after season 3 or 4. In the first seasons, I always feel that they were mismatched. But the judges now (JLo, Steven and Randy), clicked and jumped right from the TV the first time I saw them together.

1/3 of the reason why I like watching Idol10 was because of the contestants. The group was a combination of great talent! I can't wait for their performances already!

Until the next episode!

Modern Family: An Ideal Blend of Heart and Smart

I really love the American TV Series, Modern Family. I've been watching this show ever since I learned about it in the 2010 Daytime Emmy Awards. I know right?!? Season 1 was almost over when I learned about this funny show. Since then, I never missed an episode. Even Doms is into this show.

Being one day late from the US, I usually download the latest episode Thursday nights. To those of you living in a rock for the past year, here's a short summary of what this awesome TV series is about:

The story follows the families of Jay Pritchett (Ed O'Neill), his daughter Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen), and his son Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) who live in a Los Angeles-area suburban community. Claire is a homemaker mom married to Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell); they have three children. After splitting with his longtime wife, Jay has re-married with a much younger Colombian woman, Gloria Pritchett (SofĂa Vergara), and is helping her raise her pre-teen son, Manny Delgado (Rico Rodriguez). Mitchell and his partner Cameron Tucker (Eric Stonestreet) have adopted a Vietnamese baby, Lily Pritchett-Tucker.
I have tons of favorite episodes and lines from the show! My favorite character is Lily Pritchett - Tucker. She's so adorable! I love her! I want my baby to look like her. Haha!

Another thing that makes this show top rated is that each episode is a learning experience to the viewers. It has values and lessons that people can learn from. So congratulations to the creators and writers of this wonderful show. It's about time we devour on shows with witty lines and moral lessons.
