Make-Up Wish List

I've never been a fan of make-up. I don't know how to apply make-up on my face. But seriously, I want to learn. In my free time at home, I usually search for make-up application videos just to give me an idea how to put the "thing" on my face. Yeah, LAME, right?!? But I wasn't really gifted with the talent of applying make-up.

But, don't get me wrong. I have tons of tubs and creams and powders in my bag. I even have a "make-up pouch" where I put them all. But, I don't know how to use them!

I started to use them make-up sets that I have just recently. I am not sure if I am doing it right but I really don't see it.

So, part of my "great transformation" plan, that I am not that aware of, is to buy these products. I mean, I'm not saying I will buy them all. These are just my wish list.

* Photos taken from http://www.makeupstash.com/

I know I need a complete set of make-up. So, I'm starting of with Shu Uemura's Face Base Mousse. It's like a primer in a form of a mouse for easy skin absorption. I like the pink one because it will give the skin a pinkish finish. A face base or a primer is the first step in applying make-up.

Shu Uemura's Face Base Mousse Costs 79sgd, bigat!
Next stop will be the face foundation. I wanted the one from MAC. I really think that MAC has a wide range of colors and palettes and I think I can have a foundation suitable to my skin tone.

Next, will be the blush. I haven't found the right blush yet but most probably I'll get the MAC Wonder Woman blush mates. I love the color range and the price seems reasonable.

So, I really hope that I can get the following make-up products. I a really excited already!

30 Day Photo Challenge - Failed!

I know I promised I will try my best to finish the 30 Day Photo Challenge. Turns out that I promised a lot. I cannot finish the challenge :(

I've been busy and I really don't have the extra time to keep up with the "demands" of the challenge. I really wanted to finish it but I'm way behind it already.

Sorry!

Yummy Breakfast

Yesterday, I followed a Tumblr Blog called Healthy-Inspiration. Indeed, I was really inspired with all the healthy and yummy food suggestions shown in the site. This blog made me realize the value of a healthy meal everyday. So, for this morning before going to work, I passed by the grocery to buy my breakfast.

Pandesal with butter and starwberry jam topping. I love this breakfast! I also included in my daily aLive Yogurt fix for my digestion.

Ironically Excited About Our Short Manila Vacation this Holy Week

OK, I know that it's my third Manila vacation for this year and I shouldn't be excited because, yeah, it's my third vacation. But I couldn't help it! Going back to Manila just for a short time makes me want to plan my whole wardrobe and list the things I need to buy in the grocery and make a schedule so that we can eat on the all the places that I want to eat in.

Sure I can't fit all these activities, but there's no harm trying right? So, I'm posting here our tentative schedule.

SEGWAY
I remember Doms creating a schedule for our Pinas vacation. Here it is:

Good thing the words were not clear because of my screen capture. I liked the schedule but it was too cramped. Best part of his note was "shopping galore" scheduled on Sunday. As if may pang-shopping sha!

Bisita Iglesia in Sanctuario de San Antonio, Santa Clara, Padre Pio Churches
Kalbaryo Procession
Tagaytay!
Meet Friends from Lawson, UST and Fairview
Malling in Glorietta, Trinoma, Greenbelt
Shopping!

Food
Home Cooked by my Mom: Tinapa and Adobong Pusit *
Jollibee
McDonalds
Dampa *
Banapple *
Abe
Josephine's Tagatay *
Goldilocks
Kanin Club
Pancit Palabok
Sisig
Pochero
Taho
Palitaw
Suman

Ayan na! All the things that I want to do during our short Pinas vacation.I know these won't fit in our 5-day vacation but at least I was able to sort out my mind na. I really hope that we can try all of these stuff.

Countdown: 22 days to go!

Chicken Chopsuey

I wanted to eat veggies for dinner last night so I searched for the chopsuey recipe. I want to say that I loved how my chopsuey turned out to be.

Garlic
Onion
Snow peas, washed and ends cut
Cauliflower, washed and cut to florets
Baby Corn, drained
Carrots, thinly sliced

Sophie Kinsella: My Fave Author

Sophie Kinsella has been my favorite author. I love the way she writes her fictional novels and I can relate to some situations that she adds in her witty titles.

I first learned about Sophie when my sister bought the whole line of The Shoppaholic Series. She was into the book so much that I was convinced that the story was nice. So I picked up one book from the series and tried reading it.

I found myself laughing out load in many parts of Confessions of a Shoppaholic. The book was well written and I can fully understand and imagine what the character was going through.

From then on, I always watch out for Sophie Kinsella books. I found her Stand Alone Books to be more interesting.

The first stand alone novel that I read from Sophie was "Can You Keep a Secret". I loved this book! It talks about Emma, a nervous airplane flyer, who accidentally spills all her secrets to the man she sat beside with in the plane. What she didn't know was she was going to meet "the man" again that will her lead to be vulnerable and open to everybody.

Next books that I read was Undomestic Goddes and Remember Me. The first one being more romantic and the latter being a little bit of usual story of a girl being hit with amnesia.

But my favorite among her stand alone novels was Twenties Girl. I really, really like the story of this book! This novel is a combination of a thrilling story because Lara, gets visited by the ghost of her Aunt Sadie, and wit, because I never knew that ghosts can act that funny in real life. I liked every bit of the story of this book. I can read it all over again be amazed over and over about the story.

Now, I cannot wait to buy Sophie's other books. She has other books that she wrote using her pen name Madeleine Wickham and I wanted to read that as well.

Osaka Town Lunch

After hearing mass, Doms and I went to Raffles City Mall to eat.

We were searching for a new and nice place to eat. Then we saw Osaka Town.

Osaka Town serves authentic Japanese food. My mouth watered when I saw the menu. It consisted of gyoza, ramen, tonkatsu and okos. It was my first time to try okos so I made sure to order it.

Doms ordered the chicken and hamburger set while I ordered the tonkatsu with okos set.

Okos was the pancake thingy on the right. It was my first time to hear and try it. It tasted like omelette with the usual Japanese soy sauce taste. It was nice! It was served in a grilled platter with a small "shanse" used for cutting the okos.

I loved how Doms order looked like that's why I'm posting this pic

Our meal costs 33.50sgd including one drink.

Maggie Moo Creamery

I don't know why I've been so addicted to ice cream lately. I wanted to try all the ice cream stores or dessert stores that I see online. It's like when I see their ad, I make it a point to try it.

I saw Maggie Moo's ad in Groupon SG. I searched for their site and I learned that there's one Maggie Moo in B3 of 313 @ Somerset.

So when we were there a while ago, we searched for the store and when we found it, tried one specialty ice cream mix.

I forgot the name of this mix but it sure tasted better than Marvelous Cream.

The regular cup costs 7.90sgd. It contains Maggie Moo vanilla ice cream, chocolate chip cookie dough, oreo and twix chocolate.

It tasted so nice! I bet I'll be dreaming about this tonight.

Happy V: Singapore's Version of Jollibee

I was really craving for Jollibee's chicken joy since last week. I miss how the crunchy chicken lingers in my mouth. I also miss the peculiar taste of the chicken joy iniquely for Jollibee only. So, when we were in Lucky Plaza a while ago, the place where we send money to our Manila savings account, we ate in Happy V!

Happy V is a restaurant here in Singapore that serves chicken, spaghetti, palabok and even burger steak just like Jollibee's. I believe it's a Filipino owned abd managed fast food here in Singapore.

Doms ordered chicken and palabok while I ordered checken and spaghetti. I love our merienda meal! It's the closest thing that we have here in Singapore that resembles and tastes like chicken joy.

I know 2 Happy V stores here in SG:
2nd floor Lucky Plaza
Lau Pa Sat

Our meal costs 16sgd. This includes 2 iced lemon tea in can.

Marvelous Dessert in Marvelous Cream

After our wonderful dinner, Doms and I hunted for the "right" dessert. When we saw Marvelous Cream's custard and ice cream desserts, we just went straight to the queue to order.

Marvelous Cream serves high premium ice cream and desserts. Doms ordered the custard cream dessert while I ordered the brownie mocha ice cream mix.

I loved our desserts! It looked nice and yummy!

Sho Teppan Dinner

Last night, Doms and I tried the restaurant near Burger King in ION Orchard called Sho Teppan. It was the first time that we ate in this restaurant. The ambiance was nice. We were seated in the ledge in a high chair. I kinda liked it better if we were seated in one of the booths. Anyway, since it was a Friday and it's the Lenten Season, we ordered non-meat meals.

I ordered for Salmon Sukiyaki Set, which includes a big pot of different veggies in Sukiyaki soup while Doms ordered a Seafood Shabu-Shabu set. When I said big pot, I really meant big POT.

Our dinner was so heavenly! I liked my Sukuyaki soup and I can see from Doms' empty bowl that he liked his order as well.

I made Doms promise that we will go back to this restaurant again to try the pork and beef teppanyaki meals.

Sho Teppan is located at B3 of ION Orchard. Our meal costs 36.80sgd

Macaron What?

OK, I haven't tried or tasted a single macaron in my entire life. I have seen thousands of macarons in ads, posters and in even the display cabinets of bake shops but I haven't had the guts to buy and taste one single piece. I've been so amused about how a macaron looks like.

So, it's a big possibility that later, when Doms and I eat dinner in ION, I will be passing by any macaron store that I see just to buy one piece and taste it.

I hope I do!

Loving Chewy Junior

I cannot remember the last time I ate Chewy Junior. I think it was more than 6 months already? That's why when I learned that there's a Chewy Junior stall in Clementi Mall, I scheduled to drop by their store on my way home.

Doms is on OT today so ako ay nakapag-liwaliw. I was still far from the actual Chewy Junior store but I can already smell the sweet flavor of chewy buns baking. I felt joy when I saw the delicious displays of the cream puffs!

It took me around 5 minutes to decide which flavor to buy. My favorite has always been Chewy Cheese. I love the cheese flavor in the chewy puff so much! I was so full with the laksa that I ate  so I just bought 2 pieces for take away.

When I arrived home, I immediately sank my teeth in the beautiful puff and I was really happy!
The puff oozed with sweet cheese and cream that is just right for my taste.

I so, so love it!

So, next time you are these locations, make sure to try one of Chewy Junior's Puffs!

    Addicted to Lip Balm

Last Saturday, Doms and I went to Marina Bay Sands to eat before going to the ArtScience Museum. The last time I was in MBS was in January when my family was here in Singapore. I know there were stores open already but Sephora was still closed.

I mentioned Sephora because it's the only store I know that sells Burt's Bees products. Ever since my Ate Bern introduced me to Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm, I was on a hunt to find a store that sells that here in SG.

Burt's Bees products range from lip care, to face creams, hair care and body washes. Their products are all made from natural ingredients. Even the coloring and scent that they use are all natural. I bought Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm and the Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer. I love them so much!

I am really not sure how my addiction to soft lips started. I just found my self buying different kinds of lip balms here in Singapore and applying them so often. I love how lip balms leave my lips subtle and moist. I hate it when I experience chapped lips because it really stings!

I just found out now that I have 5 types of Lip Balms inside my bag.

Clockwise from left: Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm, Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer, Nivea Cherry Lip Balm, an Unknown lip balm that my mom gave me but I assume it's Nivea too and Body Shop's Cherry Lip Balm Gloss
Truly, I am a lip balm addict!

    30 Day Photo Challenge - Day 17

Day 17 - A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently

OK, I really don't want to post my passport here but that would be the photo suitable for today's challenge. So, I just removed the important details of my passport and I hope I won't get in jail for doing this, haha!

When I first saw my passport, I initially said "Cool, I have a new name!" But as time passes by, the idea having a new name and of course the fact that I got the new name because I got married, was slowly sinking in.

I will now forever forget the fact that I will be called Ms. Tutaan and I will now be called Mrs. Valentin. I will be grouped as "married" when we attend weddings because I will not be part of the girls waiting for the bouquet to be thrown. I will be CHANGING my signature to reflect my new last name and I will make sure that I will not forget to use the new signature.

Whew! A lot of things changed when I got my new passport. That's why I am posting "part of it" here in my blog.

    Enjoy!
