Creamies Morning

When we were in Sydney, I was searching for unique food items to buy. Food items that I know unavailable here in SG. And I found these:

White Wings homestyle cookies. These cookies are called creamies mainly because they whipped cream filings.

The creamies were great! It's like I'm eating ice cream with my usual chocolate cookies.

As always, I forgot how much were these cookies. I sure hope we bought a lot of these!

Pancake on the Rocks, Sydney

One of our main goals during our Sydney trip was to try different food and dishes in different restaurants. Well, we did eat a lot but we didn't take pictures of all the food that we ate. Anyway, one of the restos that stood out during our trip was Pancake On the Rocks.

I've been searching about this resto way before our trip. It was well recommended by a lot Sydney bloggers so I made sure that we will eat in this resto.

Our first try of this wonderful place was in Harbourside Shopping Centre. It was our first full day in Sydney and before watching Harry Potter in Lido IMAX, we made a stop at Pancake On the Rocks.

The place was jam-packed with people and we had to wait around 10 minutes to be seated. While waiting, my mouth watered on all the food items passed us. My stomach wasn't cooperating either. It wasn't hard to order. Almost all the tables in the resto had Steak and Ribs on it so we decided to order both dishes.

Rib Eye Steak

Pork Ribs

Our order came out this glorious! I didn't care about the long wait for the food. I wanted to stuff everything in my mouth so I can taste every inch of the ribs (OA!). The steak was well done just the way we liked it. The sidings of veggies and cajun fries made it more yummier. The Pork Ribs on the other hand was the best that I've tasted so far. The BBQ sauce was so good and the ribs were so tender.

Then, we ordered Banana-Rama which was so nice to the eyes and to the tongue.

Banana Rama Pancake

The pancake medley had ice cream and cream at the same time with caramelized banana and syrup. We instantly digged in the pancake and it was gone in minutes!

Our next trip to Pancake On The Rocks was on a Friday. It was drizzling and we had a hard time looking for the place in the Rocks. The 2nd resto was cramped a bit and it wasn't as comfortable as the one in Darling Harbour, but people still lined up to get in! Good thing we came in early.

We ate pancakes purely on our second visit. I loved it! I really think that the reason why this resto was and still is a big hit is because the taste in their food is really consistent wherever the location of the resto is. The staff was also nice and accommodating.

Food price wise I really wouldn't know because I forgot the prices already. I think it's on the site. Well, I love this resto and I will definitely eat here again when we get back in Sydney!

Olive Vine

Last Sunday, Doms and I ate in Olive Vine, Marina Link. It was the first time that we ate in this cafe.
I loved the ambiance of the place!

Nestled between Marina Square and Esplanade Xchange, Olive Vine serves breads, soups, pasta, chicken and sandwiches.

This cafe reminds me of French Baker in Manila because they have soups served in a soup bowl. I love Doms order! He ordered seafood carbonnara. It was so creamy! The shrimps were fresh and the mussels were big.

I ordered Chicken Cutlet with Tomato Spaghetti. It was to salty for me. Maybe because of the tomatoes? I don;t k now but I didn't like it that much.

Total cost of our meal was 23 SGD because we topped up 2 SGD each for our drinks.

Men Ichi Lunch

Doms and I tried for the first time Men Ichi Japanese Ramen Restaurant in Yishun for lunch. We have been passing this restaurant every time we go to Northpoint Mall but we never really wanted to try it. What made us try this restaurant was the gyoza displayed in front of the food joint.

Doms ordered Chicken Teriyaki and I ordered Chicken Katsu Don.

I loved my order! It tasted like Teriyaki Boy's Katsu Don.

One of Those Nights, Again

Yup, laziness struck me again last night. I had abdominal cramps and I was barely walking straight. So, it was really Impossible for me to cook dinner.I was planning to cook "Bicol Express" but just by thinking about it, I was tired already.

So, Doms and I decided to eat at Cafe Cartel, Northpoint. We ordered their famous ribs and grilled chicken.

It tasted oh so heavenly! We topped up so that I can have the mushroom soup which tasted creamy. I loved the croutons!

Our total bill cost S$28 (P977) . It was a normal meal price for us. I was half expecting our bill to be more than 30 but good thing it was below it.

The Freshness Burger Joint

Last Sunday, Doms and I tried the newly opened buger joint in Causeway Point called Freshness Burger.

The place was nice. It was packed with people but they were able to accommodate everyone. The burger and the food prices ranges from 1.90 to 7 sgd. I really think that the prices were reasonable.

Doms ordered their classic cheeseburger while I ordered the Spam Burger. It tasted very nice!

Here's a montage of all the food that we ate. Everything here costs S$17 only! Very cheap for good tasting and healthy burgers.

Freshness Burger Cafe has 2 stores: Causeway Point, Woodlands and NEX, Serangoon.

McDonald's Breakfast

Never did McDonald's fail me when it comes to breakfast. Their meals are just right and tasty.

Recently, I've been addicted to the cinnamon breakfast of McCafe.

I ordered the meal above this morning.

I love the cinnamon and mocha chino combination! This meal cost S$4.50 but it still has some coffee art! Effort!

Fruit Diet Starts Now!

OK, I've been too weary enough. I need to start with something already. I can feel and see that my weight is really starting to get heavy already. Oh no! I don't want to get fat!

So, starting tonight, I will be munching on fruits instead of my hard core night meals. I don't know how I will start it. Tomorrow my meal plan is to cook "Nilagang Baka" for Doms. I will still eat the dish that I will cook but with no rice. I really hope I can do it!

I sought after the advice of some of the greatest dietitians that I know (Efren and Arvin) for some recipes and tips and they gave me some useful tips and I will definitely try them all.

I need to think of different fruits to buy so I can start my fruit diet. Let's see...

  • Apple
  • Orange
  • Grapes
  • Pears
  • Kiwi
  • Makopa
  • Banana
  • Pineapple
  • Melon (Oh no, I think I need to start eating melons!)
  • AVOCADO!
  • Watermelon
For the veggies...
  • Cucmber
  • Carrots
  • Potatoes
  • Tomatoes
  • Broccoli
Other types...
  • Tofu
  • Eggs

I really wish that I can stick to these types of food. I will be posting here in my blog my meals so that I can keep a track of it. I will stay away from rice as much as possible and hopefully I can loose weight and be healthier.

Food Discovery: F & N aLive Yogurt

Ever since the OB that I last saw told me to eat yogurt with live micro-organisms, I always made sure to hunt for the best tasting yogurt in town. I found aLive Yogurt in Fairprice Finest, Clementi and tried it.

I love the mango flavor yogurt! It has bits and pieces of mangoes and nata de coco that I really like. It is low fat so I don't have to worry about the extra fat that I put in.

My DIY Pizza

This morning, I had this crazy craving for pizza. No pizza brand in particular. I just wanted to eat pizza with cheese. So, an idea came in my mind. I remembered my housemate Joy telling me about the thin crust pizza that she made using pitas. So, I passed b the grocery on my work to work to buy the ingredients to my DIY pizza.

I bought the wholemeal Pita Pocket because I thought I can just stuff everything inside and eat it. But, it doesn't have a whole so I just made it really into a pizza. I love how the pita smelled and looked like. It's like one whole flat play dough.

I also brought in straight from our fridge the Tomato Basil sauce that I bought from QB. too bad I wasn't able to buy pepperoni slices. My pizza looked incomplete tuloy.

But I love how it tasted! Next time, I will complete my ingredients naman.

Enjoy!

MOF Lunch

After hearing Palm Sunday mass, Doms and I decided to eat lunch at Ministry of Food at AMK Hub. It was our first time to try this place and we really liked it.

MOF Interior in AMK Hub

Doms ordered the Saba Rice Bento while I ordered the Chicken Curry Set.

Sabe Bento Set

Chicken Curry Set

Yumm!!!

The curry was just right for me. It was not too hot. The sauce was to die for! The sauce itself was good enough with the rice.

We ordered Tuna Sandwich too but I was not able to take a picture of it.

Oh and we ordered the Barista's Recommendation called Double Chocolate Chip Frappe. It wad just OK and nothing unuque about the drink but we enjoyed it.
