Photo Walk: Sydney Australia

This post shows pictures that I've taken during our Sydney Trip. I know I am still a beginner and I need more practice. But I am happy that I got to experience Sydney with Doms. Next stop, Orlando Florida (wish!)

The Great Blue Mountains of Sydney

Continuing on with my blog posts about our Sydney trip was our experience in the cold Blue Mountains region of Sydney. Like what I said in my Featherdale Wildlife Park Adventure, my Blue Mountains experience was not that good because I didn't like the cable way ride and the scenic railway.

Anyway, after almost a 3 hour-ride from Sydney City, we arrived the "entrance" of Blue Mountains where the beautiful Three Sisters rock formation can be viewed. I was literally awestruck when I saw how neat and beautiful Three Sisters is.

Three Sisters rock formation was as if God went down and made by hand this rock formation. God is truly amazing! We were at a place called Echo Point where we can see the rock formation and the beautiful mountains.

After Echo Point, we then headed to a more adventurous part of Blue Mountains, Scenic World.

going to the different views of Scenic can be done either by Scenic Skyway, Scenic Cableway and Scenic Railway. We didn't do the first one, thank God! We just did the Cableway and Railway and n both rides, I was either shouting or I had my eyes closed.

good thing I was able to give smile to Doms at the Scenic Cableway above. I literally screaming on the way done, haha!

But for the Scenic Railway, I was really scared when it was coming. A lot of things was coming inot my mind while doing the Railway! I was really freaked out!

In between the cable and railway, we had the chance to do the scenic bush walk going to the coal mines of Blue Mountains. It was a nice experience but it was also tiring! Steep staircases were always present and I hate stairs!

All in all, I liked out Blue Mountains adventure. It was scary for me because I didn't like anything that involves heights and steep railways but Doms seemed to like every minute of it.

Featherdale Wildlife Park Zoo Morning

I can't think of a nice title for this blog post because I am not very excited talking about these activities. The main reason being my dislike in going to zoos and my fear of heights!

Our third day in Sydney marked a change from walking around the Sydney streets. We purchased a package tour going to one of the famous spots in Sydney called Blue Mountains. I was excited of course but terrified at the same time because I knew that I will be placed in a compromising position because our tour package includes "rides" that I was afraid to do.

Our tour also includes a ticket going to the Featherdale Wildlife Park. I like this place! Animals roam freely and you can pat or touch them. Except of course if there are snakes and lizards which I scream just by looking at their pictures.

Anyway, as always, Doms liked touching animals and taking pictures. As you can see, he looks like he loves all of them already!

Me, on the other hand wants to as far away as possible to them.

My favorite part of this zoo experience was the picture taking with the cute Koalas. At least this one, looks like a stuffed animal only so no problems to me if I touch them!

Hyde Park, St. Mary's Cathedral and Queen Victoria Building

The next day of our Sydney Trip started early. We woke up at around 6:00 am and started to prepare for our buffet brekky. We were excited because it was our first time to have brekky in Novotel.

When we arrived at Ceezens, Novotel's lobby resto, the breakfast buffet was just inviting. Different types of breads, loafs, croissants were piled up in one corner. Then, Kellog's cereals were lined in clear glass containers. Fried eggs, breakfast sausages, grilled tomato, mushroom in olive oil and bacon aromas were all over the place. They have their own pancake maker in the buffet line. In short, we were in breakfast heaven!

We didn't fill ourselves too much with the food because we know we will be trying out other restos through out the day.

After brekky, we started our walk. Let me just say first that in the 5 days that Doms and I were in Sydney, we were just walking going to different places. Not including Blue Mountains because it was 2 and a half hours away from Sydney.

So anyway, we started off with Hyde Park. Hyde Park is a humongous park situated at the middle of Town Hall. All around you will see greenery, plants, birds and more plants.I saw people seating in benches eating lunch or snacks. Hyde Parks is such a quiet and serene place and ideal for people who just wants to sit down and feel one with nature.

Further down Hyde Park is a fountain, which the name I forgot, with a view of the famous St. Mary's Cathedral. I liked the fountain because I feel so liberated seeing the statues of the fountain.

If such fountain exists in the Philippines, people will think ill of it and might find it inappropriate. Good thing wala sha sa Pinas because I'm sure, in less than 3 days, that fountain will be removed.

After the fountain, we went straight to St. Mary's Cathedral  The church looked awesome and grand! I love it's structure and the building was just majestic.

We went inside the church and prayed. After which, we bought souvenirs from the church store. After the cathedral, we went to the Australian Art Museum. Nothing much was seen in that place but it was all OK.

We walked further down Elizabeth Street, which was parallel to George Street, until we came about Queen Elizabeth Building. I love this place! It was a mall but the mall is small and colorful.

We then went to Cockle Bay Wharf and Sydney Aquarium. I have separate blog posts for these places.

The Qantas A380 Experience and Rocking Novotel Rockford

I know I haven't updated my blog for the longest time. That's because I'm saving the a lot of events first before writing it down here in my blog.

Just like what my blog title states, I will be telling you our experiences and stories during our Sydney Trip. Mind you, I'm still starting with Days 1 and 2 so watch out for the rest of my blog posts.

Our trip to Sydney started last July 12, 2011. We bought our travel package months before this day to prepare for our visa and other stuff, like saving for our spending money, for the trip. I've researched on different places to visit around Sydney so I was equipped with maps and lists and transport directions before the trip.

Anyway, our flight was scheduled to depart Singapore Changi Airport at 9:40 am with an ETA to Sydney Kingsford Airport at 7:20 pm (local time). We were lucky enough to ride the new Qantas Airbus A380 Industrie planes.I was very nervous about this plane ride because I read news about this "new" plane and those news were not that good. Good thing I got myself together and told myself that everything will be OK.

The plane was huge! It was new and it was great! I loved the flight! I just hated that fact that we were grounded for almost 2 hours because of gasoline problems but aside from that everything was great!

Our in-flight entertainment consisted of a lot of movies in the touch screen panel in front of our seats which includes, Adjustment Bureau, Limitless, Tangled, Troy, Modern Family, Family Guy, Soul Surfer and other movies that were awesome and updated.

Food and drinks were also overflowing from our flight and I love the drink cans that were given away.

The flight was smooth. I didn't feel the take-off and the landing was quite alright. I remember watching Lord of the Rings first, then Beyonce's I Am.. concert then Soul Surfer. The food was great too! too bad I was not able to take a picture of our flight food.

Moving on, because of our delay, we arrived Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport  at 9:15 pm (local time). Ate Pla, our friend from PYM, was there to meet us and bring us to our hotel, Novotel Rockford Darling Harbour.

Our hotel was well situated in all areas around Sydney. Darling Harbour, IMAX Theatre, Cockle Bay, Chinatown, Harbourside Shopping Centre, Paddy's Market were just a mere 10 minute walk away from us. The main roads of George Street and Pitt Street were also near so walking to different places in Sydney was no problem for us.

SEGWAY: I took a picture of our hotel the next morning and here it is.

And below is the view from our hotel room. The building that you can see here is Sydney Entertainment Centre.

After freshening up and some chat in our hotel room, Ate Pla, Doms and I went out and tried to find a place to eat. Since most stores and restos in Sydney closes at 5pm or 9pm, we just ate in a Kebab Stall in Harbourside Shopping Centre. The food was great! I love how the kebabs tasted when I added the "magic sauce" from Doms' dish.

This is Doms' order and the thingy inside the red foil wrap was our Chicken Kebabs.

Ate Pla and me posing for the camera. Haggard kung haggard!
After our tasty dinner, Ate Pla headed for home but Doms and I stayed a bit and took picture of Darling Harbour at night.

Street Signs. Dapat lang hindi na kame mawala!

Posing parin!

After the short night tour, we headed back to our hotel room and rested to prepare for our Day 2 in Sydney.
